Erwin Wurm is most famous for his “One Minute Sculptures” where people create art themselves through interaction. For the Städel Museum, he reused older sculptures and created new ones specifically for the exhibit. The first sculpture I noticed was positioned to the right of the main entrance – a white pedestal with a dog chain tied to it. I’m still mad at myself for not posing as a dog, I found the idea hilarious!

Wurm’s art works were spread out over the museum’s collections and the courtyard. His works connected the different time periods of the collection like an invisible trail. It was fun walking into a room and watching visitors in poses and try them out for myself. Wurm left a small drawing on each pedestal to indicate what you’re supposed to do, but I soon took the liberty of experimenting with the task. So here is my contribution to #poseMW!

The last day of #MuseumWeek 2015 called for creative poses, memes or selfies… whatever we want! I remembered visiting the Städel Museum in Frankfurt, Germany in May of 2014. At the time, the museum hosted an exhibit by the Austrian contemporary artist Erwin Wurm.
