Suchart Wannaset

Wannaset installs an oversized garden fence that incorporates the surroundings outside the sculpture park. Behind the wall of the park, the roof of a typical detached house sticks up, looking strangely small, almost as if it has sunk down, due to the huge fence. The traditionally welcoming sight of a suburban home clashes with the impression of an insuperable and dangerous barrier. Wannaset examines the meaning of community and inclusion in an age when the politically propagated need for security focuses on isolation and exclusion.
