Woodcutter's hut, Bärenschützklamm near Mixnitz

The one-room hut, built as a log cabin, is closed off at the top by a slightly vaulted ceiling made of logs. A steep gabled roof covered with shingles is open on both gable ends. Under the vaulted wooden ceiling, a smoke hatch is formed on both gables, through which the smoke from the open fireplace can escape into the open air. On the three inner walls of the hut are sleeping platforms filled with leaves, brushwood or bracken. In the centre of the room is an open hearth where the woodcutters prepared their simple but hearty meals.
