Barn, Naintsch near Birkfeld

The barn, consisting of a stable, barn, threshing floor and shed, is built over a quarrystone foundation in a log construction and has been preserved in a very original form.

The barn was set up as a circulating stable. The cattle were not tethered here and the manure remained in the barn until it was taken out to the meadows and fields, which is why this type of barn was called a manure barn. In the shed of the barn there is a gin, which was used to operate a wooden threshing machine in the threshing floor above the shed. The shear rafter roof is thatched with straw.
