In March 2020, the Institute for Art in Public Space Styria invited artists to submit project ideas for an unused, canopied pavillon structure near the Opern Pavillon café in the center of Graz.
The pavillon from the 1960s was structurally adapted in 2019 on behalf of the Institute for Art in Public Space Styria. For several months, the institute presented a curated, silent video program on a display in the pavillon, which was expanded for performative projects after a while. For 2020, the institute called out a contest which asked for performative and installative project ideas that could be realized in the pavillon and on the on-site display. A five-person jury selected seven winning projects from 57 national and international submissions.
On June 10, 2020 the program opened with video projects, and was followed from July 7, 2020 onward by performances and installations. It closed on October 26, 2020.
