As part of the finissage weekend, Katrin Bucher Trantow and Silvia Eiblmayr will discuss Helen Chadwick’s work and its continuing relevance in the exhibition Hybrid Pleasures. Eiblmayr curated Chadwick’s landmark 1994 exhibition Poesies at the Salzburger Kunstverein, bringing a unique historical perspective to the conversation. Together, they will reflect on the themes and questions that continue to make Chadwick’s work resonate today.
Silvia Eiblmayr, Ph.D., works as an art historian, curator, and editor, and lives in Vienna. From 1998 to 2008, she was director of the Galerie im Taxispalais in Innsbruck, and from 1993 to 1995, she served as director of the Salzburger Kunstverein. In 2009, she served as co-curator with Valie Export for the Austrian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. She is the author and editor of numerous texts and publications on modern and contemporary art.
