In space travel, the term orbit is used to describe the path on which an object circles around a celestial body. In his intervention on the BIX Media Facade, Simon Reitmann gives the Kunsthaus Graz its own central gravity around which his art can circulate. The BIX thereby becomes a tool for making this orbit visible.
"At the Friendly Alien, I want to pick up on the existing reference to space and use the Kunsthaus as a central object to stage my art as an orbit. In my work, I try to portray seemingly rigid objects in motion. The angular lines and patterns on the facade break up the organic shape of the Kunsthaus and vice versa."
