Peter Kutin works across genres with sound, repeatedly employing it in conjunction with unusual media and materials. Drawing on a practice rooted in the DIY and noise scenes, he combines electronic and contemporary music with objects, space, light and avant-garde film. A key focus of his work lies in kinetic sculptures, in which he explores the acceleration of sound and light sources and, subsequently, their compositional and performative qualities.

He has collaborated with numerous artists from a wide range of disciplines, including Christina Kubisch, Sandra Wollner, Nikolaus Geyrhalter, Billy Roisz, Liesl Raff and many others. His works are shown internationally at various festivals for music, film and media art, and have won several awards. This year, he presented the opto-acoustic installation Para Bellum at the Museum of Military History in Vienna and his film music at the Cannes Film Festival, and made a guest appearance at the Elevate Festival in Graz with an audiovisual performance by the group PLF. In 2026, he was awarded the Artist-in-Residence grant from the Province of Styria at the WIELS Centre for Contemporary Art in Brussels.
