“To be a flower is a great responsibility,” wrote Emily Dickinson in her poem “Bloom” (1865). In this curator-led tour, we’ll examine individual works from the exhibition *30% Dandelion* and invite you to view the world from a different perspective: plants as kin, art as a means to rethink relationships and forms of resistant participation. The exhibition *30% Dandelion* conceives of the flower as a relative of humankind and as a conceptual figure for resistance, beauty, and collective solidarity. Based on the central theme of being one-third plant, cultural and natural history objects from the Universalmuseum Joanneum enter into dialogue with numerous contemporary artistic works. They address ecological crises, colonial interconnections, and questions of temporality, care, and self-empowerment.
