Make a wish

The BIX project at Kunsthaus Graz takes up a familiar and poetic gesture: blowing dandelion seeds into the wind and making a wish. For a brief moment, a deeply personal thought becomes a visible movement.

Visitors can interact directly with the work via a QR code. A digital dandelion appears on their smartphone. By blowing into the phone’s microphone, they set its seeds free. At the same time, this movement becomes visible on the BIX media facade of Kunsthaus Graz: the seeds scatter across the illuminated architecture, carrying the personal wish into public space.

In this way, the project connects an intimate moment with the scale of the city. A simple gesture becomes a digital intervention, transforming an individual wish into part of a shared experience.

The interaction is deliberately designed to be immediate and intuitive: scan the QR code, wait for your turn, make a wish, and blow. No app or special technical knowledge is required.
