The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations form a shared roadmap towards a more sustainable and equitable future. They address issues such as climate action, education, health, gender equality, and the responsible use of resources, highlighting how closely these challenges are interconnected.
In 17 Ways Forward, artist Martina Vanda translates the SDGs into her own distinctive visual language. The Kunsthaus Graz becomes the lens through which she explores the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Drawing on the building’s architecture, its programme, and its institutional identity, she develops a layered visual language that connects global challenges with with the museum’s own issues. The project invites visitors to see the SDGs not only as broad political objectives, but also as impulses for collective reflection, action, and creative engagement.
