Dianasaal

The Diana Hall impresses with a beautiful painting and stucco work on the ceiling. Stainz Castle was founded as an Augustinian canons' monastery in 1229. In its present appearance it has roots in both the Renaissance and Baroque periods. It sits enthroned in perhaps the most delightful part of western Styria, where the blue Wildbacher, the Schilcher, thrives best. Today, the imposing castle houses the showrooms of the hunting collection of the Landesmuseum Joanneum and serves as the Meran family's residence and business domicile.
