Planet Garden

Foto: Universalmuseum Joanneum

The Planet Garden is a separate fenced area in the park of the castle and is located northwest behind the castle on the outer castle wall. It was redesigned according to plans by Helga Marie Tornquist and reopened in 2004. It is based on the Renaissance idea of planetary signatures, to which all earthly manifestations, including plants, colors and shapes, are assigned. From this vocabulary the garden spaces are formed, which stand under the signum of the seven classical planets.

This very special historic garden can be booked for concerts, readings, standing receptions and weddings.
