The mobile pavilion is the link connection SHOWING STYRIA to the regions. With its monumental video room installation, it engages with the variety of Styria through the medium of moving images.
The panorama display in the pavilion enables an exceptional overview of landscapes under analysis, as well as a spectacular presentation of Styria as a location chosen for art.
Styria is always described as a province of great variety. In this, reference is mostly made to the different landscapes in terms of nature and culture. But the special variety characterising Styria is also shown in its social diversity, in the rich art created and the variegated landscape of ideas.
The mobile pavilion of SHOWING STYRIA is a plea for art. The disassociation that sets in when looking through the lens of art allows one to break out of one’s established patterns of thoughts and ideas.
With its monumental video installation, the mobile pavilion tours throughout the province as a travelling branch of SHOWING STYRIA.
Vienna: Heldenplatz
Hartberg: Schlosswiese in front of Schloss Hartberg
Spielberg: Red Bull Ring, Parkplatz: Red Bull Ring 1
Schladming: Wetzlarerplatz, directly in front of the town hall
Bad Radkersburg: Hasenheide, between the thermal spa and the old town
Styria is a province of art. The variety of prominent artistic positions is outstanding, especially in the younger and middle generations. This forward-looking breadth and strength is what makes the Styrian art scene special. In SHOWING STYRIA mobile pavilion, 23 unusual, fascinating and unexpected angles on Styrian artists can be found.
Taking the perspective of research and innovations, informative films offer short insights into and surveys of the varied forms of art and new trends in the region, as well as the bio-diversity of the cultural landscape, the plethora of languages, and also contaminated landscapes.
In this way, these films expand the cultural area with knowledge of Styria, and illustrate the spirit of innovation found in Styria.
With its monumental video installation, the mobile pavilion will tour throughout the province as a travelling branch of SHOWING STYRIA.
