2003 was the year of Graz as the Cultural Capital of Europe. It was also the year in which the architectural landmark was born that ever since has discussed current social issues in its exhibitions and projects, as well as set in motion the creation of new artworks and realised a wide range of educational programmes and events. In addition, it promotes engagement with art, design, architecture, and with exhibiting itself, linking up disciplines with cultures.
Starting January 1st 2023, Andreja Hribernik, the new director of the museum – who convinced members of the experts’ commission last March – has assumed responsibility for the institution. In this jubilee year, visitors can expect a remarkable programme of exhibitions.
