About the project

Portugal’s most important sculptor today, Pedro Cabrita Reis (* 1956), a frequent participator at the Venice Biennale or the Kassel documenta and someone working at the intersection between art and architecture, has engaged intensively with the brick architecture of southern Styria. Based on this, he will create a brick circle – about 7.5 m in diameter and 5 m high – based on window lights of the functional buildings. The assembly of bricks as an open sculpture and structure is intended to become a meeting place for people.
