With essays by Barbara Kaiser, Klaus Aringer and Ārt House, the richly illustrated CD book offers a fascinating insight into the history of the palace and its music.
In 1625, Hans Ulrich von Eggenberg began to build his new palace near Graz, the utopia of a better world, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The last Eggenberg princess died in 1774. ĀRT HOUSE 17 goes in search of traces of the music that was composed at the Eggenberg court at this time or dedicated to the princely family and draws a sonorous panorama of a world in upheaval with music by Giovanni Valentini, Heinrich Schütz and Ignaz Franz Biber, Pierre Gaultier, Johann Jacob Prinner and Philipp Jacob Rittler through to Pietro Romulo Pignatta, Antonio Draghi and Joseph Haydn.
Please order the CD book directly from the ĀRT HOUSE 17 shop.
