About the exhibiton

Gudrun Krebitz is an artist and filmmaker. Her drawing practice produces independent works whilst providing the foundation for her films.

Characteristics of her works are the interweaving and overlapping of various narrative strands and techniques. Drawings, stop-motion, film footage and photographs are animated, edited and interwoven to create multi-layered, mysteriously poetic film collages. Krebitz creates original, fantastic-magical film worlds that are emotionally direct and explore possibilities for depicting our reality.

She was born in Graz and studied at the Royal College of Art in London and at the Film University in Potsdam-Babelsberg. She currently lives and works in Berlin. In addition to her latest film „ECHODROM,“ the Neue Galerie Graz studio also presents previous moving image works as well as a selection of original drawings.
