The Kunsthaus Graz is easily accessible to everyone – starting with the moment you arrive. You can park your car in the underground garage or in one of the disabled parking spaces at the Grieskai. Coaches and cars can stop right outside the entrance on the wide pavement while passengers are getting in/out of the vehicle.
The touch-based guidance systems also include a touch-based model of the Kunsthaus positioned outside the building. The key information is also featured here in braille. Well-labelled automatic doors offer safe and comfortable access to the Kunsthaus. A guidance system based on touch and visuals will guide you from the entrance to the counter.
White gloves are available for blind visitors to enable selected objects to be touched. We also provide audio information via iPods. Audible announcements in the lift also help. The large building map in the foyer provides an overview of the available space. Aspects of accessibility have been taken into account in all of the exhibitions. If you require assistance, staff are on hand to help.
Accessible tours in various languages are offered on fixed dates and on request. Visitors wishing to explore the exhibitions independently can collect a room guide and audio guides are also available.
The contemporary art presentations sometimes feature lighting effects and video projections which could cause epileptic seizures. Please enquire at the counter or the information desk as to whether the exhibition in question is suitable for epileptics.
The light-flooded entrance area and Needle (with magnificent views) offer seating where you can take a short break. In addition to the broad range of mediation and educational programmes for children and young people, there is also a chance to breakfast at the museum’s own café every Sunday while the children explore the museum as ‘space kids’.

Assistance dogs are welcome in all of the buildings, park areas and exhibitions of the Universalmuseum Joanneum.

Wheelchairs can be rented free-of-charge on presentation of official photo ID at the ticket counter.

We offer tours and workshops for people with disabilities – advance notification required.
In the case of groups from social organisations, we can provide access to our exhibitions at a special price:
- Price for admission and tour: 3,50 €/person
- Carers: free admission and tour
individual adults with a disability:
- 8 €/person, tour: 2.50 €/person
