Christian Kosmas Mayer

Born 1976 in Sigmaringen/Germany, lives and works in Vienna

Christian Kosmas Mayer studied at the Saar College of Fine Arts in Saarbrücken, the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, and the Glasgow School of Art. He took part in the Artist in Residence programme at the Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden in 2020/21 and received the Falling Walls Award in 2022. Most recently, he co-organized the Frozen in Time conference at the Panel on Planetary Thinking at Justus-Liebig-University, Giessen, and designed a passageway at the train station Meidling in Vienna (both in 2024). Mayer has had solo exhibitions at the mumok – Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig and the Austrian Gallery Belvedere in Vienna, the Austrian Cultural Forum New York, and the MAK Center Los Angeles, among others.
