Speaking of Masterpieces. New perspectives on the Alte Galerie

Internationally renowned researchers take a fresh look at selected masterpieces from the Alte Galerie. This new event series focuses on the central task of research in the museum. The trained eyes of experts allow people today to experience the significance of the Old Masters, while at the same time revealing numerous secrets of works spanning from the Middle Ages to the Baroque.

Selected artworks from the Alte Galerie form the centre of this initiative, which is also supposed to be fun. The point is to learn something new and explore the potential of an art collection as a place for lively discussion. Guided tours on specific themes related to the respective masterpieces will supplement this new monthly lecture series in the collections of Schloss Eggenberg.

The evening lectures start in April and will take place monthly at Schloss Eggenberg until Novwmber. The detailed lecture programme as well as all the dates of the themed tours will be announced at the beginning of 2024.
