In the course of construction work for the opening of the Joanneumsviertel in 2011, the Joanneumsviertelplatz was fundamentally restructured. Punctuated green spaces, inviting seating, the architecturally remarkable glass cones and catering establishments located on the square invite visitors to linger in the middle of Graz's old town. Especially for receptions, open-air concerts and summer festivals, the square exudes the right flair.
