The project OEVERwerk opened the doors of the Rösselmühle, one of Austria's oldest mills, for the first time for the wider public in September and October 2020.
OEVERwerk encouraged the guests to approach the discourse concerning the meaning of work as a socio-political process from various perspectives. For OEVERwerk, the space was the starting material. Living and working on the site involved the place's context as content basis for artistic examination. Thus, it was out of question if we wanted to be part of the change of work, but how and where we wanted to position ourselves in this process.
The Rösselmühle as object and production site offered various access points which the project OEVERwerk showed in the forms of installations, time-based productions and thematic mill tours. For example, different tours discussed the history and the function of the mill, architecture and agriculture, the relationship between industry and nature as well as the relation to art in public space.
