In 2022, Vienna-based artist Alfred Lenz erected a grid wall along the busy Landstrasse 201 in Studenzen, which is used as a gallery for banners. Every year, art programs can be seen on this counter-design to the familiar advertising spaces in public areas.
It is one of the few examples of how contemporary art is made accessible to a wider audience in rural areas - after all, it is estimated that more than four million vehicle passengers and passers-by see the banners over the course of the year.
In 2026, four exhibitions are planned, each lasting three months and featuring four artists from many different generations, starting with:
Eva Ursprung, !, 2021
Hyunsun Yoo, Green, 2025
Bruno Hoffmann, Toilettenwand, 2018-2025
Sarah Bechter, *Neurotic Independence, 2024
