About the
Project

Flora N. Galowitz provides a space for people from different social classes, inviting them to think, participate and exchange ideas in order to develop new alternative social structures. She sets up a variable 4.50 m x 3 m x 2.50 m permeable and open structure, consisting of a kind of scaffolding made of spruce square timber, on a piece of lawn in her home community of Schwanberg for the summer. On eight Saturday afternoons, the artist hosts and curates the space, offering the guests coffee and cake. She invites artists and theorists to give concerts, sculpt, create spaces, paint, perform scenic readings, hold lectures and symposia, stage a bar, and screen films.
