Bone Code
Bodies Tell the Story of War
16.05.-31.10.2014 10:00-17:00
Every skeleton tells its own story: eating habits, diseases or injuries are literally written in our bones. Wars and other conflicts also leave their traces behind on skeletons.
The exhibition Bone Code. Bodies Tell the Story of War in the Archaeology Museum marks the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, 2014, by displaying the vestiges of violence on skeletons. The focus here is on those human remains revealed during construction works on the Graz Castle in 2011.
