Please note our various seasonal opening hours. We are looking forward to your visit!



Visit one of our museums with the individual day ticket or get a Joanneum 24-hour and 48-hour ticket to see them all.



We have made it our aim to be a ‘museum for all’ and we want to make the Universalmuseum Joanneum accessible to everyone, where conditions permit. Everyone should be able to visit our locations and the various exhibitions and parks.


The History of Universalmuseum Joanneum

In 1811, Archduke Johann of Austria (1782-1859) and the estates of Styria jointly set up the Joanneum as an ‘inner Austrian national museum’.
