The exhibited shell of the largest land snail of all time (Pebasiconcha immanis), which lived around 17-11 million years ago, is the world's best specimen. It was found in 2011 in Porvenir (on the banks of the Amazon in Peru, approx. 54 km SSW of Iquitos) during field work for an international research project of the geological and paleontological departement.
