About the
Exhibition

A joint project between the Kaiserschild Foundation, the Alte Galerie, the Kunsthistorisches Museum, and the Kunstmuseum Winterthur, brings together three still lifes by Pieter Claesz in a fascinating dialogue with high-resolution photographs of the paintings and several short films. These high-resolution images allow visitors to digitally explore details of the works alongside the originals, zoom deep into the paintings, and experience texture, colour, and brushwork in ways that would otherwise be impossible, while also learning more about the artist and the works. In addition, the paintings were brought to life on film for Kaiserschild Art Defined. These film projections within the exhibition provide new perspectives on the works.

Cooperation within the framework of the Kaiserschild Stiftung's ‘Kaiserschild Art Defined’ project
