Experience the culture and history of hunting, nature, Styrian agriculture and forestry from yesterday to today.

Today

Museums at Schloss Stainz The Hunting Museum presents historical weapons, exhibits and works of art that illustrate the multi-faceted cultural history of hunting. The Agriculture Museum uses historical objects and interactive media stations to show the diverse development of agricultural and forestry work areas from pre-industrial times to the present day.

1840

After many years of negotiations, Archduke Johann acquires the Stainz estate.

2006

The Hunting Museum in Schloss Stainz is opened. Today, the hunting collection at the Universalmuseum Joanneum is the largest of its kind in Austria.

2009

The exhibition of the Agriculture Museum is being redesigned. The focus is on the development of Styrian agriculture and forestry.

The Hunting Museum and the Agriculture Museum will take a winter break to 22 March 2024.
