Following the departure of the Joanneum’s Artistic Director Peter Pakesch, who was also Director of the Kunsthaus Graz until 2011, the search is now underway for a new Head of the Kunsthaus Graz. Applications may be submitted until December 31, 2015 latest. An expert commission – consisting of one member of the Advisory Board, the Board of Trustees and the Joanneum Management as well as three external experts – will then recommend a shortlist of three candidates to the owners by the end of February 2016 latest.

The advertisement for the position is aimed at a high-profile personality from the world of art and culture, who maintains good relations with both international and regional cultural institutions, and will tackle the tasks in accordance with the mission of the Kunsthaus Graz. This involves fulfilling the museum’s cultural-political mission in that exciting space where international challenge and regional responsibility overlap. Tasks also include the development and realisation of exhibitions and events, as well as the representation of the Kunsthaus Graz in public. The goal is to position the Kunsthaus Graz in both international and local art and to enhance the attractiveness of the institution for visitors.
