Grim Mount Grimming
Mons Styriae altissimus
Opening:
Sat, 26.03.2011, 11 am
Curated by:
Katharina Krenn
At once fascinating and threatening, Mount Grimming has for millennia dominated the life, culture and economy of the Enns Valley as a habitat for plants, people and animals, a challenge for alpinists and a source of inspiration for artists. This exhibition takes a wide-ranging look at ‘grim’ Mount Grimming. Sombre myths jostle with topical interviews, and works by amateur painter Archduke Johann vie with contemporary art and everyday culture.
