Accessibility at Rosegger’s Birthplace Alpl

Information for people with disabilities

Rosegger’s Birthplace Alpl does not have disabled access due to its hillside location and protected monument status. It therefore does not offer easy barrier-free access to wheelchair users (with or without assistance), visitors with reduced mobility, blind people and visually impaired visitors.

Please note that Rosegger’s Birthplace is located at 1,200 m above sea level and is only accessible via a footpath (forest trail). The walk takes approx. 30 minutes. Access by private car is not permitted. Wheelchair users can take a taxi here but the cost will not be covered by the museum.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome in all of the buildings, park areas and exhibitions of the Universalmuseum Joanneum.

Educational mediation and groups

We offer tours and workshops for people with disabilities – advance notification required.

In the case of groups from social organisations, we can provide access to our exhibitions at a special price.

Price for admission and tour: 1.50 €/person

Without a group: admission cost for adults with a disability: 3.50 €/person
