Around 100 authentic farmers’ houses from Austria and South Tyrol allow us to take an unforgettable journey through six centuries of cultural history. It belongs to the top ten open-air museums in Europe, offering a comprehensive image of peasant life in days gone by: 100 buildings are on show in the Austrian Open-Air Museum, most of them original historical structures. The walk through the museum valley offers an overview of the historical landscapes in terms of houses as found in Austrian provinces. The exhibitions provide interesting facts about building, living and working, as well as regional customs.
