Pigsty, Stattegg

Styria

Built: 17th century (1641)
Year of translocation: 2002

This small timbered construction offered room for 1-2 pigs, as was common in the past in rural households. Leftovers were fed to the pigs and this provided valuable nourishment in the form of “free”, but usually expensive to buy, meat.
