Granary from Silberberg in Grossstuebing

Styria

Built: 1452
Year of translocation: 1990

This two-storey granary was used to store meat, flour and other farm produce. Like most granaries in the region, this one is built of logs which have been carefully finished. The large funnel-shaped iron vessel which hangs on the outside wall was used to blanch cabbage that was then stored in the cabbage pit.
