Fire station from Bad Aussee-Lerchenreith

Styria

Built: 19th century

This fire station was erected using a transom construction with plank shuttering and served as the premises for the sprinkle vehicle and the equipment for the fire brigade such as uniforms, helmets, pickaxes, buckets, etc.

The water hoses were hung to dry on the approximately 9m high tower. The fire brigade was, of course, one of the most important institutions in every village.
