Dance hut from Nechnitz

Styria

Built: 1935
Year of translocation: 2004

This “Hausebner Lusthäusl“ was adjacent to the Hausebner Inn until the 1960s and was a place for dancing and other entertainment in the rural life of the village and as a weigh station when driving the cattle up to alpine pastures or on wanderings. Such dance huts, for example this one from Nechnitz in the “Almenland“ were very common and well-attended on certain occasions. The round about benches are typical, as are the wooden planks for drinks for the musicians, which were bought by the audience so as to get their favourite songs played.
