Museums as Urban Players

Registration required!

Copenhagen’s reputation precedes it: as a role model of a sustainable metropolis, it is a centre of attraction for city planners, architects and climate protectors alike. But what role do museums actually play in the context of sustainable urban development? What is preserved, and what is eliminated when the paradigm is dynamic change? How do museums react, and how do they cope with the change of their environment? And who becomes responsible for asking critical questions when modern design and sustainability are elevated to being narratives of national and regional identity?

The excursion guides us to relevant institutions of Copenhagen’s museum scene and provides an opportunity to explore the effects of urban processes of interpretation on museums as part of museum tours, talks, and city tours.
