Oliver Klimpel, who works at the interface between art and design, was invited to create a new look for the Kunsthaus shop, to remodel the existing museum furnishings (such as bar elements, desk, counters) and to design new display elements for the ground floor zone. His concept takes as its starting-point an interpretation of Avant-Garde movements, particularly Nikolai Mikhailovich Suetin, and Vito Acconci, who designed a book shop for Walther König at documenta IX in 1992. The remaining shelves and table are now presented in a new form.

The Kunsthaus Graz Shop collaborates with the Universalmuseum Joanneum, the magazine Camera Austria, as well as with many other institutions and associations cooperating with the museum, like The Grazer Kunstverein, The Haus der Architektur or The Steirischer Herbst, and gives all customers the great opportunity of purchasing scarce products and publications.
