The exhibition with the title "Where Art Might Happen. The Early Years of CalArts" opens up a multi-perspectival view of the college: trends existing in parallel that came from Concept Art, feminism and Fluxus, as well as the school’s radical pedagogical concepts, were unified for the first time.

Once again, in 2019, the Kunsthaus Graz is collaborating with the Diagonale, showing an exhibition of Johann Lurf in the Space03. In the previous year he was awarded the Diagonale Prize for Innovative Cinema of the City of Graz, and is designing the trailer for Diagonale’19. Lurf’s works always mean filmic exploration – exploration that will now continue at the Diagonale’19, too.

Obelisks

Parallel to the joint exhibition Earth Series with Johann Lurf, Laura Wagner shows her multi-part concrete work Obelisks in the foyer of Kunsthaus Graz. She is the first artist to operate with the new exhibition furniture piece, pedestal and intervention space: A Cat-Tree for the Arts by Oliver Klimpel.

Installation and Soundcomposition. Based on a mediaeval logic machine that can even “prove” God, musikprotokoll builds an interactive sound installation at Kunsthaus. Vokalensemble NOVA deploys the Llullophone in order to marry very old with very new music.
