Curated by: Heimo Hofgartner

Exhibition-Design: Michael Posch

About the exhibition

After the exhibition on Uto Laur (2020), the Multimedia Collections once again devote themselves to a Graz photographer unjustly fallen into oblivion, whose photos have to date never been presented to the public: Eugen Hauber (1896–1987) documented Graz and Styria over decades, collecting and thematically ordering the images under such headings as ‘bombs, animals, flowers’, ‘persons, processions, etc.’ ‘military, personalities, animals’, ‘skiing, Bad Mittendorf’, ‘Murau’, ‘children’, ‘professions’, ‘mass’, ‘music’, ‘wine country’, ‘Catholics’ Day 1950’, ‘view of Styria 1940s-1960s’, ‘winter in Graz’, ‘church’, etc.

The exhibition is based on extensive acquisitions made by the Image and Sound Archive in the 1980s, as well as by the Multimedia Collections in 2019/20.
