Alicja Kwade hinterfragt in vielen ihrer Arbeiten unsere Wahrnehmungsgewohnheiten. Im Kontrast zur Schwere von Sol LeWitts Wall spüren schwebende Steine und bronzene Globenstühle wissenschaftlichen Modellen von planetarischen Gewissheiten nach. Sind Rotation und Schwerkraft als Grundbedingungen unseres Lebens vielleicht schlicht eine Frage der Sichtbarkeit aller Dimensionen?

What does the world sit on when we sit on it?
As in many of her works, Alicja Kwade questions our habits of perception. In relation to the heavy weight of Sol LeWitt’s Wall, harmoniously floating stones, and bronze globe chairs trace scientific models of planetary certainties. Are rotation and gravity as basic conditions of our life on the blue marble perhaps simply a question of the visibility of all dimensions?
