Worldwide protest against the arrest of Ai Weiwei

There has been widespread national and international protest following the arrest of Chinese artist Ai Weiwei in Peking. An online petition organised by the Guggenheim Museum demanding the artist's release has been endorsed by leading museums round the globe.
