Schloss Stainz

The Augustiner-Chorherren Monastery with its magnificent baroque collegiate church, is a landmark of the rolling countryside around the market township of Stainz. Archduke Johann, a much loved fatherfigure throughout the region and the precursor of modern hunting in Styria became the master here in 1840. Visitors will be given thrilling insights into the background to hunting, game ecology and nature in the newly established hunting museum in the castle.
