The Distribution of Heavy Metals above Lead-Zinc Mineralizations of the Rauchenberg Area near Arzberg (Styria)
by Leopold Weber, Helmut H. Weinke & Barbara Mörtl
Abstract: In the Rauchenberg area, west of Arzberg (Styria) soil samples have been analysed for heavy metals by a quick method for prospecting lead-zinc mineralizations. The results show clearly a mineralized horizon, which has been formed to a small syncline by tectonic processes. However the results have to be interpreted carefully, as the extreme sensitivity of the method may led to misinterpretations because of old tracks or dumps from which possibly material is displaced as a result of the steep morphology.
Key Words: Graz Paleozoic (Styria); Lead-Zinc mineralizations; Geochemistry of soils; Dithizone.
