Geophysical Prospection at the Former Lead-Zinc Mining Area Rauchenberg near Arzberg (Styria)

Abstract: At Rauchenberg (Community of Arzberg) a geophysical prospection (geomagnetic surveying and mapping) with a grid of 2 × 2m was carried out. The investigations in the former mining area indicated several zones of anomalies. Some of the anomalies are caused by the mining process (ore deposit, mining heaps). The existence of relics of former subsequent treatment (forge?) seems to be possible.
