Ergebnisse eines reflexionsseismischen Profiles in der Florianer Bucht bei Preding/Weststeirisches Becken

by Franz Weber

Summary: A 7,1 km long reflectionseismic profile of the Rohöl-Aufsuchungs AG was reinterpreted crossing the Northern part of the Florian subbasin of Western Styrian basin. The maximum thickness of about 1000 m is reached in the western part, while a flat rise of the base of Tertiary gets in the East direction. Southeast of the village Preding are two West-dipping faults assumed having displacements of 50 m and 100 m. There is no stronger rise to see to the Sausal Swell situated in 600 m distance. The boundary Baden/Karpat was determined by some distinct reflectors in the Tertiary series and a classification of the Eibiswald formation was tried by consideration of the newest stratigraphic results.
