- 09.06.2011
Duration: 10.06.2011-21.08.2011
Curators: Karin Leitner-Ruhe, Helga Hensle-Wlasak
Albrecht Dürer’s life spanned the transition from the late Middle Ages to the Renaissance, and his oeuvre reflects developments each side of the divide as well as the contrasting cultural regions of Germany and Italy. Graphic works from the Alte Galerie’s Kupferstichkabinett represent the apogee of Dürer’s graphic work and form the focus of the exhibition. These are complemented by works of great contemporaries.
